How Spiritual imbalance in the body can affect all aspects of wellbeing

Spirituality and feeling connected is so essential to every aspect of our life as it not only gives us focus, direction and a sense of purpose for the future but it also helps us to feel more connected to both ourselves and others.

However, being Spiritually connected is also so much more , as it has a huge impact on our sense of health and wellbeing. If we feel connected within we are better able to cope with difficult and challenging life situations and therefore have a greater ability to be able to process emotions in the mind, before they manifest as pain in the physical body which will inevitably occur, as any form of trauma, pain or discomfort will always be felt first of all mentally before it begins to affect us emotionally or physically. If we are feeling disconnected within we are unable to process and therefore understand our emotions mentally and as a result the emotional concern will start to manifest which will then increase to be felt as physical pain.

A lack of spiritual connection within may mean that mentally we are not aware of concerns starting to manifest and only become fully aware when we begin to feel emotional symptoms including a feeling of disconnection, anger, Anxiety, Depression, guilt frustration, irritation or feeling a lack of hope for the future.

Physical symptoms include aches and pains, fatigue, loss in appetite, insomnia or illness.

Any form of pain or discomfort experienced is a result of not processing or choosing to ignore our emotions as they may be too painful for us to process and are often caused by our spiritual needs not being met. We may initially put spiritual blockages around ourselves in an attempt to stop .us feeling further emotional or physical pain, but in the process of trying to protect ourselves emotionally , we only create further blockages which prevents us from healing the trauma and feeling the sense of internal love and personal liberation which is only possible through allowing ourselves to process and release the initial discomfort leading to Spiritual growth and internal healing on every level.

We have discussed the importance of Spirituality in helping you to feel.more connected within, so how can a lack of Spiritual connection create emotional and physical pain or illness and where does this discomfort manifest within the body? Let's explore this to try to understand it better.

The left side of the body is connected to the feminine or the yin, the energy here is cool, passive and receptive and connected to emotions and feelings but the right side is masculine or Yang , a fire energy which creates heat, is dominating and gives direction and control. For optimum health it is essential that both these energies are fully balanced as we need both masculine and feminine energy to feel fully present and connected. If we are lacking or low in either our masculine or feminine energy problems and concerns will start to affect us emotionally or physically.

So how will these concerns manifest?

Headaches and neck pain often arise from Stress, or pent up emotions that are not explored and dealt with.

Shoulder pain is connected to emotional burdens which may have left you feeling overwhelmed or unable to cope.

Throat pain is linked to a suppression in communication and the inability to express what you are really feeling for fear of judgement or repercussions .

Arm or hand pain are connected to attachments that have not been fully released or attempting to hold onto either self control or controlling others.

Chest pain is linked to the heart, cruelty or unresolved emotional upset, trauma or sadness which creates an inability to process and acknowledge your feelings which can lead to an inability to give, show or feel love for others in addition to yourself. Lung pain is related to grief, liver pain to Anger and Kidney pain to fear.

Back pain signifies your emotional needs are not been met or you are in need of grounding and internal balance.

Leg or foot pain can indicate that you are currently feeling confused and lacking direction in your life, there may be a resistance to let go of the past or too move forward. Whilst knee pain signifies a need to surrender and become less rigid and more flexible in our every day lives.
