The new year is the perfect time to make the decision to improve your physical health but sometimes walking into a gym and seeing all the toned bodies can make you feel a little self conscious if you are not feeling or looking your best so what are some ways in which you can start to make a few changes that will make all the difference ?
The best way to lose weight and improve your health is through a combination of a healthy balanced diet and exercise. If you choose an exercise or eating plan that is manageable and that you enjoy you are much more likely to stick to it in the long-term.
Every day make a conscious choice to make a positive change, This will often start with taking responsibility for your own health as it is the most valuable resource you will ever have. If you have problems with motivation try asking friends and family to help ,they can provide support and guidance especially on the tougher days when you feel like giving up.
Alternatively set yourself realistic goals and have something to work towards which will always give you motivation, it may
may be your wedding or an important date that you want to look and feel your best for.
Starting a new wellness routine will be challenging and it's not always easy to find the time or motivation but anything is possible with the right drive and focus. Write down your reasons for improving your health and back it up with regular pictures in prominent places you will see, such as your fridge door,, particularly if you are trying to lose weight to help give motivation and you can track your progress.
Be patient and remember that any degree of change comes with effort and time so don't get disheartened if you do not see results straight away just keep going. A conscious effort every day is much more beneficial than flogging yourself at the gym once a month.
Once you start feeling better and the compliments start rolling in it will become much easier, just keep going and don't give up until your achieve your goals ..whatever they may be.

How can you improve your physical health?

There are many ways to improve your physical health but here are a few suggestions that you may find helpful.
Get off the bus a stop early from your destination and walk it's one of the best exercises you can do.
Take the steps instead of the lift when possible .
Make time everyday to exercise and get the body moving with an activity you enjoy .
Follow a healthy diet and make sure you stay well hydrated with a minimum of 2 litres of water daily.
Make sure you get adequate sleep ideally the minimum of 8 hours per night.
Consider spiritual practices to help manage Stress such as meditation, Pranayama, or Yoga. As an alternative stretching can be helpful to alleviate tension.
Limit your caffeine,alcohol and sugar intake. If cholesterol levels are high include dairy produce also.
Have regular check ups to make sure your body is healthy and to catch health concerns early to make them more treatable.
Get out into nature instead of staring at your phone, laptop or TV it's much better for you and the tranquil environment is ideal for relieving Stress too.
