How to recognise someone with a high degree of Spiritual health

What does being Spiritually healthy mean to you? Do you think it involves doing an hour of yoga and then binge drinking a bottle of vodka or maybee you feel going to Church to worship and then coming out and completely ignoring the homeless man on the street begging for money is justified because you have already done your Spiritual work right? Wrong. Spirituality is not something you turn on and then off again when you feel like it to make yourself seem like a good person or to impress others. You are only fooling yourself ,you should do it because you want too and not because you feel you should because then you are not being honest or authentic which is exactly what Spiritual Health represents.
Being Spiritual and being Spiritually healthy is an ongoing journey which never ends as everyday we are taught lessons to help us grow and become better humans. So how can you recognise someone who is Spiritually healthy?
Spiritually healthy people are honest and say what they feel, which is not always what we want to hear, especially if we are in the wrong, they stand by their words and actions and have a strong moralistic attitude to what is right and what is wrong. This does not mean however that they feel they know everything about a situation, they are simply stating an opinion. They stay true to themselves and don't try to model themselves on someone else ,they also treat everyone as equal irrespective of their outward appearance, race, sex or beliefs as they understand that not everyone will see a situation the same way.
Due to their honesty they are not afraid to be open , even if that makes them vulnerable, because they are speaking their truth which is more important to them then being judged or ridiculed because of it. They do not speak badly about others or hold grudges even if they have been hurt badly, because they understand that the only way to truly heal and connect again within yourself is to forgive.
In social situations they speak to and treat everyone the same, irrespective of the car they drive, their profession or the house they own because they understand that material goods and social class are simply an illusion which should not separate or somehow make somebody seem more important then the next person, true happiness can only be found within and no amount of material goods or external distractions will take the place of self love and acceptance. If compliments are given you can be assured they are genuine and not spoken to impress or make themselves more popular.
They do not gossip about others or feel jealous of their success as they know that it is a waste of energy and lowering their own vibration. Instead they focus their energy into attaining their own goals and create a life that they can be proud of even if others do not agree with their choices.
Spiritually healthy people keep their word and if they say they will do something ,then they will, they have no tolerance for flaky people or insincerity. If they do not connect with someone they will not pretend to like them if their values and beliefs do not align and finally they take full responsibility for their words and actions as opposed to blaming others in some way to avoid accountability.

Different ways to help increase your Spiritual health

There are many different ways to help increase your Spiritual health and wellness so you can feel more connected not only to yourself but the world around you. Here are some suggestions for you to try that may help you.
Practice mindfulness and become more aware of the environment around you .
Engage in yoga, meditation and Pranayama to engage the mind and body in stillness to help you connect easier.
Spend time in nature, it is very healing for the body and soul.
Find a faith that you connect with , this could be church or another form of worship that is personal to you. It helps to remove the ego and connection to something much greater than ourselves and gives you a feeling you are part of a community that will help to support you.
Volunteer to help others in need , you can make a world of difference by just giving some of your time .
Journaling and writing down your thoughts and emotions can be very healing.
Forgive the people who have hurt you. Bearing grudges is exhausting and weakens your spirit.
Practice gratitude to appreciate the things you do have as opposed the things you don't.
Appreciate the beauty in the world around you instead of focussing on the negative side of life.
Take time to understand who you are and what is important to you instead of trying to please others.
Spend time with like minded people who can support you on your journey and with your inner growth.
Reflect on your experiences and reactions to help you understand yourself better
Learn from your mistakes instead of blaming others.
Acknowledge your actions and take full accountability for them .
