What is an Empath and how can you recognise one?

Empaths are generally highly intuitive people that are able to feel what another person is experiencing either physically or emotionally, almost as if they personally feel that person's pain or emotion within their own minds and bodies. Whilst this is indeed a beautiful trait to have, for the Empath it can at times feel over whelming and sadly makes them an easy target to be taken advantage of as they are the person that everyone will call or contact when they have problems they need to discuss.

Empaths also due to their sensitivity tend to absorb other people's energy leaving them feeling exhausted and they often need a lot of time alone to recharge themselves again.
Empaths can generally tell just by being around a person how they are feeling as they are attuned to recognising energy changes and as a result can instantly recognize manipulate behaviour such as lying or toxic energy of any kind which means being in a partnership with them can feel very intense as they will make you feel loved and understood in ways you have never experienced before!

Typical traits of Empathic personalities
They have an affinity for children and animals who are naturally drawn to them
They are highly sensitive and intuitive but can be hurt emotionally very easily which means personal relationships can often be challenging
They absorb other people's emotions so their moods can change as they show characteristics of what the only person is feeling ie they can be feeling upset one minute and happy the next as they absorb and reflect
The majority of empaths are introverted and get easily over tired in crowds ,preferring one on one contact or small groups
They need a lot of time alone to recharge as they can feel emotionally drained very quickly in social situations
Being in nature is very healing for them as it restores their energy and enables them to reconnect with themselves once again
They are incredibly loving but their big hearts do leave them vulnerable to be taken advantage of which they sadly often are.
If you can be understanding and patient they make the best friends and partners as they are very honest and completely devoted to the ones they love
