Which oil is recommended for Massage?

Generally speaking Jojoba, Sweet almond or Grapeseed are what I would recommend just be careful with nut allergies if you were planning to use the almond oil. This massage is particularly soothing during the winter months to help boost the circulation and release those winter blues! Another option during this time is Sesame oil as it has a warming effect on the body and joints. Alternatively during the Summer months if the client is feeling particularly warm I substitute my normal preference of Grapeseed oil with coconut oil as it helps to cool the body.
With this style of massage in particular I would recommend warming the oil before applying it, I use a bottle warmer designed to heat babies bottles and it works very well as the oil never gets too hot. When applying oil to the client I would advise applying to the back of your hands first so not only is it a smoother transaction but also the temperature can be checked
If the receiver is feeling particularly stressed or in need of relaxation and no allergies are present consider adding 2 drops of Lavender essential oil.
