How does journaling and repeating affirmations help to increase self love?

Have you ever been told that if you have a problem to write it down as often once we see it written on paper it can seem not as bad and more manageable then when we keep it in our mind ?
Journaling is a powerful tool to help with releasing mental anguish for many reasons as by writing down your feelings you are able to process them easier ,which can help you to understand your thoughts and emotions with more clarity .
By understanding the way you think, feel and react your sense of self awareness naturally increases, which helps you to recognize patterns or negative ways of thinking which may not be helpful for you.
When you are able to understand what is concerning you then the initial problem will often not feel as over whelming, therefore helping to boost your confidence and sense of self esteem , whilst gaining a sense of peace and clarity for future decisions you will make.


How do you do affirmations to help with self love?
In a previous post we discussed the importance of staying true to yourself and being authentic, the reason for this is that you cannot control or change the way others will see you or feel about you, but you can change the way you see and feel about yourself .
Recognising and embracing our shadow selves and weaknesses in addition to celebrating our strengths is an essential part of self love because if you do not fully love and respect yourself how can you expect others to do so? In life we will meet many people, the right ones will stay and enhance your life and the wrong ones will leave, focus on giving your energy to the people who enhance your life and bring love because by being in their presence you will naturally feel good within yourself, in the same thread , avoid others who make you doubt yourself or cause you pain it will only damage your self esteem further and you deserve better.
Learning to embrace using affirmations on a daily basis can help to boost inner strength and self esteem so you do not need to feel you need to find validation in outside sources. Our minds, bodies and hearts are our most precious commodity and you should only share them with those who will take care of them and this includes yourself.
When using Affirmations you can increase the impact by saying them out loudly by looking at yourself in a mirror, this can be harder then you may initially think but keep persevering as your strength increases so will your self esteem.
When choosing the words , use statements that will increase your growth and be empowering using the present tense 'I am' instead of I will be ..by regularly repeating the affirmations at least 10 times daily you will in time alter your mindset and start to replace negative beliefs with positive as your self esteem increases.
Phrases to use can include :
'I am worthy of love and I deserve to be loved'
'I celebrate my strengths and acknowledge my weaknesses'
'I love and accept myself exactly as I am'
Remember affirmations will only work if you believe them, as change is only possible when you decide you are ready to embrace it for yourself
