What are the different types of goddess and how can I recognise my goddess type?

Throughout our lives we have been taught the history of the importance of the goddesses particularly in Greek mythology but what about the importance of woman today, our family members, friends, colleagues and relatives?

Every woman often without even realising it possesses the qualities of a goddess, it is who we are and what we feel is our greatest gift that we can offer to others.
There are many different types of goddess so how can we discover what our goddess type is? The answer can be found in looking within and being completely truthful with yourself. What kind of people do you care about most your family or strangers in need? What principles are most important to you? What frustrates you most about the world we live in and what excites you the most what do you feel passionate about? When you are seeking the answers its ok to be completely truthful and answer for yourself not what you feel others would want you to be or say. It is only through being completely honest within that you will find the answer you are looking for which could lead to you leading a happier and more fulfilled life.

So what are the different types of goddess and how can I discover what my type is?

Domestic goddess – These are women who love to be at home and feel happiest when they are caring for their family, they are natural mothers and love raising children in a home that they will take great pride in keeping tidy and organised at all times.

Love goddess – Do you get excited by feelings of being in love, passion and enjoy feeling your sexuality as a woman? It may be that you have a natural flair for writing poetry and romance plays an important part in your life. These woman can often be in multiple relationships as they search for the one, who once found gives them the fairy tale ending the have always dreamed of.

Muse- Do you have a wide range of interests? It may be that you are a woman who has a lot of knowledge about different things, are you good at inspiring others and bringing out the best in them? If so this is your goddess type.

Warrior goddess – These women are a force to be reckoned with, they take no prisoners on their quest to seek out the truth! They often have a masculine and sometimes over whelming energy and their passion is to create change and help those less fortunate then themselves and they will do everything in their power to make that happen.

Earth goddess – An example of these gently spirited souls can often be found at hippie festivals dancing barefoot and embracing Mother Nature, they are protectors of the planet, animals and environment and will campaign with every ounce of their being to save what they hold most dear.

Dark goddess – These women are not dark in nature but are highly spiritual and connected to the underworld, they are here to help bring transformation to those who need it and will work as a guide to help create much needed change in other people’s lives.

Angel goddess – These women are very sweet and gentle, they love everyone unconditionally and are very compassionate, sadly these woman are often taken advantage of due to their loving nature and yet despite this they continue to help others in every way they can.

Spiritual goddess – Do you know a woman who is very drawn to working with energy or energetic things? She is probably highly sensitive and very much aware of the energies that surround herself and others, these women will often work with spirit and can travel through time so will be aware of being present in a past life in some way.

Science goddess – Are you a woman who is very intellectually driven? These women may be known as geeks by some but are incredibly intelligent and enjoy nothing more than exploring the theories and mysteries of the planet and the world we inhabit.

Explorer goddess – Do you love to travel and discover new cultures, are you open and accepting of people from different cultures and who have different values from your own? Do you love nothing more than exploring new places and meeting new people? Adventure is an essential part of life if this is your goddess type.

Priestess goddess – Often can be seen as the hierarchy of the goddess types, this is a woman who is confident in her power, she is a facilitator of knowledge and wisdom and will be the person that others will often turn to as they enter their own journey of healing and awakening.

Many women including myself are a combination of different types of goddess and throughout life you may find that your goddess type will change as your personal situation does. When I was younger I was a combination of the explorer and the love goddess and although parts of those principles still remain my priorities have now changed due to my spirituality increasing and I find myself moving into different realms as a result.

If you recognise yourself in one of the goddess types above embrace it and do not be disheartened if you feel you do not fit any of the descriptions, as a woman you are a goddess with your own light, never close yourself off to your feminine power, you are more than just a physical body allow yourself to become vulnerable so you can truly feel who you are within. The most important lesson I can share with you is to live your life for you and do not be afraid to express who you are too the world.

There are so many women I have met that feel trapped in their lives and disempowered, where they do not feel free to be who they really are for fear of judgement from others. This is your life and our time on this planet is short, embrace it and live the life you have always wanted too, it will bring to you more happiness then you ever imagined and isn’t that what is the most important aspect to living your life with true authenticity for who you really are and not for who others feel you should be?
